Ontario is one of the world's premier muskie destinations. The St. Lawrence River, Georgian Bay, Lake of the Woods, and the Kawartha Lakes system all hold trophy-class muskellunge. Muskie are notoriously difficult to catch — they require persistence, the right presentation, and lures that trigger reaction strikes. Tips for Ontario Pike & Muskie Anglers

Spring (May–June): Both species are in the shallows post-spawn and highly catchable. Summer: Target weed edges, points, and deep structure during midday heat. Fall: The best trophy muskie season — fish slow and big as water temps drop.
